As the founder of Peter J. Gutierrez Law, Peter focuses on providing expert counsel in land use and development matters including CEQA and regulatory enforcement. He is dedicated to offering strategic, practical legal solutions that help clients navigate complex land use and development processes to manage risks and help achieve business objectives.
After graduating from USC law school, his legal career has been deeply rooted in the Los Angeles area. His experience working at both the County of Los Angeles and the City of Los Angeles has given him a unique, specialized understanding of the region’s regulatory environment, which helped him to establish his land use practice at Latham & Watkins. He continues to leverage this past experience in his practice today.
In addition to his legal work, he is committed to giving back to his community. He previously served as a board member at Neighborhood Legal Services of Los Angeles County and was honored as the Pro Bono Volunteer of the Year in 2023.
